Artist Statement

I am a professional artist.

I work in an abstract and intuitive way—not to explain, but to stay open to what wants to emerge in the moment. In my life, there are brief, vivid moments: Moments when everything feels full, free, and beautiful. I never know when they will come—they cannot be forced. But I recognize them when they do. Painting doesn’t lead me to these moments—but sometimes, it touches them. Like the sea or the wind—part of something greater than myself. I don’t paint to convince.

I paint to stay true.

Stillness before the next move. The painting speaks. I watch. We go from there.
