Bio

Elen Gkotsi was born in Austria to an Austrian mother and a Greek father and grew up in Germany with her younger brother. Even as a young child, she loved to draw—often quietly, often unnoticed. But the spark was always there. Art ran in her family: her grandfather and aunt were both professional painters in Austria, and while this legacy was never a path she was expected to follow, it perhaps planted a seed. At the age of ten, her family moved to Greece, marking a significant cultural shift in her life. Her artistic talent emerged early, and she felt a deep connection to art from a young age. After studying theater arts in Vienna, she dedicated herself to dance and body movement for over 32 years—a journey she now recognizes as a path of self-discovery. This period helped her redefine herself and her creative path.

With a transformative art education at the Art Milan Institute, Elen took a bold leap into the world of painting. After four years of dedicated creation, she has found her artistic voice, painting in an abstract-realist style that captures the essence of her subjects with expressive, dynamic strokes. She works with a wide range of materials, including acrylic, oil, mixed media, collage, spray paint, chalk, and charcoal. Elen deliberately avoids limiting herself, as her natural curiosity drives her to continuously explore and experiment.

Looking ahead, Elen envisions having her own studio where she can fully immerse herself in painting. She dreams of traveling the world, embracing each moment of growth and challenge, and capturing the beauty and vibrancy of life.
