Technique and Material Layers
This portrait, sized 150 x 100 cm, was executed on stretched canvas using the Mixed Media technique I developed. The work combines several layers to achieve depth and a rich texture:
Foundation: The portrait is based on an initial sketch created with charcoal and various pens.
Painting: The main work is done in acrylic paints, which give the piece its expressive and color-intensive energy.
Refinement: Additionally, oil paints, collage elements, and sprays were used to emphasize the raw and multi-layered aesthetic of Abstract Realism.
Inspiration and Impact
This portrait is an expression of an artistic challenge: depicting an iconic face that has already been interpreted by many. My motivation lay in the intensive engagement with Einstein's gaze and the prolonged observation of his expressions to translate his personality onto the canvas authentically.
As in all my work, the focus here was on the constant search to capture the essence of the depicted figure. This portrait celebrates the figure of the thinker and serves as a captivating statement piece for any space or collection.
