Behind Audrey Hepburn 2 by Eleni Gkotsi
This portrait grew out of my curiosity about how Audrey Hepburn’s presence and elegance would emerge on the canvas. Without a fixed idea in mind, the process began with drawing and initial layers of color and gradually evolved through multiple mixed-media techniques and layers of paint.
Rather than aiming for a perfect likeness, my focus was on an open and intuitive working process. By layering materials, responding to the image, and allowing changes to happen, the portrait slowly took shape.
This work is part of my ongoing portfolio series, in which the artistic process and a personal approach to the subject are central.
